Rain rain don't go away

I was woken up this morning by the rain pounding on the skylight in my room. So I turned the heater up, turned the volume down on the TV and laid here and listen to the rain, I love that sound. I turned the heater way up just in case the electricity goes off, I usually wake up cold anyway. For some reason at night am always really warm and then I wake up in the morning and I'm freezing.

I finally get my van back today and I was hoping to be able to go to the lake but it doesn't look like that's going to happen, I was just listening to the news and there is supposed to be thundershowers all day long but maybe we'll get a break and we can at least go over there for an hour or so. Both Brodie and I need it after being without a vehicle for over a week.

Next Monday I go to Valley Medical for patient visits with Cindy. We all pair up and ask any questions and get to know the patients, I'm really looking forward to that. I haven't seen Cindy for a long time and it will be really nice to see her again.

stranded

I took my van in to get serviced last Thursday and finally got it back this morning, now I need to take it to get the lift fixed. I can't wait until I can get a new van because this one is starting to cost more and more each time it breaks down or needs service. It's amazing how much you miss something like that when it's not around, Brodie and I are both going crazy from cabin fever but there really isn't any use getting up when I can't go anywhere. I hope I get it back by Wednesday so I can go to Santa Cruz and see the progress on my new home.

I'm supposed to go and see Tony on Tuesday and also get my depo shot so I hope that South Bay Mobility is going to be open today even though it is a holiday, if not I will have to reschedule my appointments.

Brodie's doing a lot better with the treadmill. Since I'm not able to take her out to get exercise the treadmill has really come in handy. At first it was hard to get her to stay on it but she can be persuaded very easily with chicken jerky so we just have to keep at it and pretty soon she will get on it by herself supposedly. She does get up on every once in a while so I always tell her what a good girl she is.

The last time my brother was here he said that he was going to the bathroom and Brodie walked in and looked at him as if to say HEY HEY HEY... I drink out of that, it was hilarious.

Tuesday

I missed the support group again on Monday . After my massage therapist left for some reason my bladder was leaking so we changed my pants and my attendant said the hose looked funny, like it wasn't all the way in. The morning attended has never changed it before so I had to call my afternoon attendant to come in early to change it. I ended up being in bed and resting for the afternoon.

Today I took Brodie and Tue Tue to the lake for some exercise, Brodie and I went around the lake about three times so right now she is sleeping like a baby.

Juicer

I swear since I got this juicer I have been in much better health. I have not had very many pressure sores and the couple that I have had healed very quickly, I have so much more energy and I feel great. I go to Costco every Thursday or Friday and get a bunch of fruit and vegetables and mix them together in the juicer, usually about two glasses a day.

Stanley and Corinne left this morning. We got a lot done yesterday. My ramp has been slippery since the rain so Stanley put some grip tape and that seems to work a lot better. We also went to the park next to the vet after we picked up Brodie from her bath. This was a really beautiful park and I have never been there before but I will definitely go there more often, it's nice to have so many choices to exercise Brodie.

Building a ramp in my new place

The people that came to look at my house yesterday ABSOLUTELY loved it. I talked to them for a while and they seem to be very nice people. I thought it was going to be a little harder but hopefully it's going to be as easy as it seems.

Charlie called and he said that they finished the ramp for my new house, he built the ramp first so that I could check on the progress of the knocking down and building up, he is always so thoughtful and of course I am very excited.

I took Brodie and Tue Tue to the park again today but our walk was cut a little short because it started raining. It's bad enough that we have to dodge all of the goose droppings on the path we don't need to deal with the rain, I would hate to slide around too much.

Stanley and Corinne are going to come down and spend the night and help me do a little running around tomorrow. Since they bought a new house and are trying to sell their old one they have been so busy I don't think I have seen them since Christmas, usually we see them every couple of weeks or so. I'm so excited for them and they cannot wait to move into their new house.

My first potential buyer

I got my first serious person on Craig's list coming to look at my place tomorrow. I'm kind of nervous because I don't really know what to expect but I was completely honest in the ad. I have a couple of other people that asked for pictures but this is going to be the first time showing it... I hope it will also be my last but I really don't think so. I am really torn about selling this place because I really love it but I want my place in Santa Cruz to have everything I will ever need because it's going to be my last place. My aunt said that everybody in the cul-de-sac is very friendly and they get together often to have barbecues and play cards, I'm really excited about getting to know everybody.

Chris is doing a lot better and I'm so glad to hear that. My mom and I are going to go and visit Chris tomorrow and take Bill out to dinner.

I finally found a travel agent to help us out with our trip in April to Georgia. Last time I went I had such a good time and I would like to try it more often. Last time we only stayed for a couple of days this time we're staying for four days, I know will still go by very fast.

Cribbage

I found a really nice park closer than Vassona. Vassona is nice and very beautiful but it's kind of faraway, in Los Gatos. Hellier Park is about five minutes away from here and there is a trail all the way around the lake. Brodie has already met a friend there to play with.

Last Sunday Uncle Dick, Aunt Kathy, Ellen and Rex and Sandy came by to play cards and hang out. My aunt was telling me that they play cards just about every night and their neighbors would like to learn how to play too, I can not wait to move there and get to know everybody. Our houses are in a little cul-de-sac and my aunt says that everybody is very nice.

I put my house on Craig's list and took a flyer to Valley medical Center and to Stanford so hopefully I will find somebody who wants to buy it, I have a little over a year so I'm not worried yet.
